Nyalam Tong La, Tsang, TibetPosted by Nik (Bude, United Kingdom) on 14 September 2011 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. Prayer flags at the summit of the 5200m Nyalam Tong La on the Friendship Highway between Lhasa and Kathmandu. Approaching the Himalaya the road starts to descend towards Nepal after this point. I was amazed how well the internal combustion engine can work at an altitude with less than 50% of the oxygen at sea level. Please have a look at my other photoblog at http://www.nomadlens.com where I post daily images of the South West of England (where I live). I really appreciate your comments on both of them.
